Lemon

Shape: Lemons should be elliptical or oval in shape, characteristic of the variety. Avoid significantly oblong or round lemons.

Color: The rind (outer skin) should be fairly well-colored, ranging from a bright yellow to a lighter greenish-yellow depending on variety and maturity. Avoid dull or excessively green lemons.

Surface: The rind should be smooth and relatively blemish-free. Minor surface blemishes like slight russeting might be acceptable depending on severity and regulations. Avoid wrinkled, rough, or heavily scarred lemons.

Freshness: Lemons should be firm to the touch and feel heavy for their size. Wilted or soft lemons indicate age or improper storage.

Nipple: The nipple (stem end) should be fresh and green, without signs of decay or drying.
