Shape: They should have a straight or slightly tapered shape with minimal curvature. Avoid ladyfingers with significant bends or twisting.

Color: Fresh ladyfingers have a vibrant green color, sometimes with a slight lime tinge at the tip. The color should be consistent throughout the pod. Avoid dull or yellowing pods.

Surface: The surface should be smooth and slightly fuzzy with minimal blemishes or scars. Rough, bumpy, or heavily scarred pods might indicate age or damage.
